Terms of Service

Welcome to Slap Social. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Slap Social mobile application, our website at slapsocial.app, and any related services (together, the "Service"), provided by Slap Social ("Slap Social," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, downloading the app, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 17 years old to use the Service, consistent with X's Terms of Service and our App Store age rating. You may not use the Service if you are barred from receiving services under U.S. law or the law of any other applicable jurisdiction. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. The Service

Slap Social is an iOS application that helps you discover recent posts on X (Twitter) matching keywords you choose, and lets you reply to or quote those posts using your linked X account. We provide search results based on the X API and do not guarantee completeness, ranking, or freshness beyond what the X API delivers.

3. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at info@getslapsocial.com of any unauthorized access. You may delete your account at any time from inside the app under Profile → "Delete my account."

4. Subscriptions, billing, and free trials

4.1 Subscription

Slap Social offers an auto-renewing subscription, currently priced at $12.99 per month (subject to change with notice). The subscription unlocks the Radar feature and the ability to reply or quote.

4.2 Payment

All purchases are processed by Apple through your iTunes account using Apple's In-App Purchase system. Payment will be charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews each period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the then-current rate.

4.3 Free trial

If a free trial is offered and you accept it, you will not be charged until the trial ends. Cancel before the trial ends in iOS Settings to avoid being charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you purchase a subscription before the trial ends.

4.4 How to cancel

You can cancel anytime from iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Slap Social. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. You retain access until that period ends.

4.5 Refunds

We do not directly process refunds for App Store subscriptions. To request a refund, use Apple's process at reportaproblem.apple.com.

5. Connecting your X account

If you choose to connect your X (Twitter) account, you do so via OAuth 2.0. You authorize Slap Social to read public posts and to publish posts on your behalf solely in response to actions you take in the app. Your X access tokens are stored only on your iPhone (in the Keychain) and never sent to our servers. You may disconnect your X account at any time from inside the app, which revokes the token both on your device and with X.

Your use of X through Slap Social is also governed by the X Terms of Service. You are responsible for complying with X's rules, including its content policies, automation rules, and rate limits.

7. User content and content moderation

You retain all rights to the replies, quotes, and other content you compose through the Service ("Your Content"). When you publish Your Content via the Service, it is sent directly to X using your account; X's terms then apply.

Slap Social displays third-party content from the X API. We are not responsible for that content. If you find content offensive, abusive, or in violation of our or X's rules, please use the in-app "Report post" or "Block user" controls. We respond to reports within 24 hours and may forward severe reports to X. We may also remove or hide content surfaced through the Service in our sole discretion.

8. Intellectual property

The Slap Social name, logo, app design, and source code are owned by Slap Social. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to our trademarks or logos.

9. Third-party services

The Service depends on third-party providers including Apple (App Store, StoreKit, Sign in with Apple), Supabase (database and auth), Netlify (hosting), and the X API. We are not responsible for the performance, accuracy, or availability of these third parties, and outages, changes, or termination of any of these services may affect Slap Social.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continued provision of the Service to you would expose Slap Social to material risk. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15) will survive.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT POSTS RETURNED BY THE X API WILL BE COMPLETE OR ACCURATE.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL SLAP SOCIAL BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Slap Social and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) Your Content, or (d) your violation of any third-party right, including the X Terms of Service.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. The state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service, except that you may bring claims in small-claims court if eligible.

15. Apple-specific terms (Licensed Application End User License Agreement)

You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Slap Social, not Apple, and that Slap Social is solely responsible for the iOS app and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to applicable warranties, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. embargo and not on any U.S. list of prohibited or restricted parties.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. For material changes, we will notify you in-app or by email at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the update constitutes acceptance.

17. Miscellaneous

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Slap Social regarding the Service. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
