Welcome to Slap Social. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Slap Social mobile application (the "App"), our website at slapsocial.app, and any related services (together, the "Service"). The App and Service are owned, published, and operated by Jessyka Mathews, an individual sole proprietor based in California, United States ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, downloading the App, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years old to use the Service, consistent with X's Terms of Service and our App Store age rating. You may not use the Service if you are barred from receiving services under U.S. law or the law of any other applicable jurisdiction. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. The Service
Slap Social is an iOS application that helps you discover recent posts on X (formerly Twitter) matching keywords you choose, and provides one-tap deep links to reply to or quote those posts inside the X app or x.com. Search results are retrieved through TwitterAPI.io, a third-party data provider. We do not guarantee completeness, ranking, or freshness beyond what TwitterAPI.io delivers. Slap Social does not authenticate to X on your behalf, hold any X credentials, or post to X for you.
3. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@slapsocial.app of any unauthorized access. You may delete your account at any time from inside the app under Profile → "Delete my account."
4. Subscriptions, billing, and free trials
4.1 Two ways to subscribe
Slap Social is a multiplatform service. Subscriptions are sold on two distinct surfaces, each with its own payment processor:
- Inside the iOS app — billed by Apple through your Apple ID using Apple's In-App Purchase / StoreKit 2 system. This is the exclusive payment method offered inside the iOS app.
- On our website at slapsocial.app (the "Web App") — billed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe") using a credit or debit card you provide to Stripe during checkout. Web subscriptions are only offered on the Web App and are never offered, advertised, or available for purchase from within the iOS app.
The two surfaces are independent payment processors. A single user account may hold at most one active subscription at a time across either surface. If you have an active iOS subscription, the Web App will not allow you to start a separate Stripe subscription, and vice-versa.
4.2 iOS app — Apple In-App Purchase (exclusive)
All payments inside the iOS app are processed exclusively by Apple through your Apple ID using Apple's In-App Purchase / StoreKit 2 system. The iOS app contains no other payment mechanism, no third-party payment processor, no external payment link, no web checkout button, and no reference to alternative purchasing options. Payment will be charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Your iOS subscription automatically renews each period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your Apple ID will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the then-current rate. You can review or change subscription settings at any time in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
iOS plans (subject to change with notice):
- Weekly — $6.99 per week, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
- Monthly — $19.99 per month, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
- Slap Social Pro (Monthly) — $22.99 per month.
4.3 Web App — Stripe (web only)
If you subscribe through slapsocial.app, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. under Stripe's own terms and privacy policy (stripe.com/legal/consumer, stripe.com/privacy). We do not see or store your full card number; Stripe handles card data. Your Web App subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. Web App pricing and plan names appear on the slapsocial.app pricing page and may differ from iOS pricing. Web App subscriptions are not available for purchase or signup from within the iOS app under any circumstances.
4.4 Multiplatform access (same account, both surfaces)
Once you have an active subscription on either surface, you can sign into the same account on the other surface and use the features you've subscribed to. We honor an active subscription wherever you sign in with the same account — consistent with Apple App Store Review Guideline 3.1.3(b) ("Multiplatform Services"). To link an existing iOS subscription to the Web App, simply sign in to slapsocial.app with the same Apple ID, X account, or email address you use on iOS. No "linking" step or claim code is required; identity-matching the account is the link. The same applies in reverse for Web App subscribers signing into the iOS app.
4.5 Free trial
If a free trial is offered and you accept it, you will not be charged until the trial ends. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you start a paid subscription before the trial ends. Trials are one-time per surface: one trial per Apple ID on iOS; one trial per Stripe customer on the Web App.
4.6 How to cancel
iOS subscription: Cancel anytime in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Slap Social. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period and you retain access until that period ends. Apple handles all cancellation processing; we are not able to cancel an Apple-billed subscription on your behalf.
Web App subscription: Cancel anytime from the billing portal linked in your Web App account settings (powered by Stripe's customer portal). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Need help? Email hello@slapsocial.app with the subject "Cancellation help."
4.7 Refunds
iOS subscription: Apple processes all refund requests for App Store subscriptions. We are not able to issue refunds for Apple-billed purchases. Request a refund through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Web App subscription: Web App refund requests are processed by us, on a case-by-case basis, for the unused portion of the current billing period only. Email hello@slapsocial.app with your account email and the reason for the request. Refunds are issued back to the original payment method via Stripe.
5. How Slap Social interacts with X
Slap Social does not require, request, or store any login credentials for X (formerly Twitter). You will not be asked to "connect" or sign in to your X account through the App, and the App holds no authorization to act on your X account.
Reading posts. When you run a search in the App, our backend retrieves matching public posts from X through a third-party data provider, TwitterAPI.io, under our own commercial agreement with that provider. The data we display reflects what TwitterAPI.io returns and may be incomplete, delayed, or out of sync with X. We do not guarantee completeness, ranking, or freshness beyond what TwitterAPI.io delivers.
Replying, quoting, or otherwise posting. Slap Social does not post to X on your behalf. When you choose to reply to or quote a post, the App opens that post in the X app or x.com using a standard deep link. Composing, sending, and authenticating the reply happen entirely inside X, under your own X account and your own session with X. We never see, process, or store your X credentials, OAuth tokens, or the contents of replies you compose inside X.
Your responsibilities under X's rules. Your use of X — including any content you post via the X app after deep-linking from Slap Social — is governed by the X Terms of Service and X's content, automation, and rate-limit policies. You are solely responsible for complying with those rules.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to violate any law or third-party right, including the X Terms of Service or applicable copyright and trademark law;
- Send spam, run automated bulk-replying or bulk-quoting, or use the Service to harass, abuse, defame, or stalk anyone;
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, fair-use quotas, or our content moderation tools;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or attempt to extract source code from the Service;
- Misuse, attack, or interfere with the Service's infrastructure (DoS, intrusion attempts, etc.);
- Use the Service to publish content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, threatening, or that infringes intellectual-property rights;
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these rules.
7. User content and content moderation
Replies, quotes, and other posts you compose ("Your Content") are written and published inside X, not inside Slap Social. As described in Section 5, the App deep-links you to X to compose and send. Once you publish Your Content on X, X's terms apply to that content. We do not host, transmit, or process Your Content.
Slap Social displays third-party posts retrieved from X through TwitterAPI.io. We are not responsible for that third-party content. If you encounter content that is offensive, abusive, or in violation of our or X's rules, please use the in-app "Report post" or "Block user" controls. We respond to reports within 24 hours and may forward severe reports to X. We may also remove or hide content surfaced through the Service in our sole discretion.
8. Intellectual property
The Slap Social name, logo, app design, and source code are owned by Jessyka Mathews. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to our trademarks or logos.
9. Third-party services
The Service depends on third-party providers including Apple (App Store, StoreKit, Sign in with Apple — payments for the iOS app), Stripe (payments for the Web App at slapsocial.app), Supabase (database and authentication), Netlify (hosting and serverless functions), and TwitterAPI.io (X post retrieval). We are not responsible for the performance, accuracy, or availability of these third parties, and outages, changes, or termination of any of these services may affect Slap Social. Payments made through Apple are governed by your agreement with Apple; payments made through Stripe are governed by your agreement with Stripe (stripe.com/legal/consumer).
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continued provision of the Service to you would expose us to material risk. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15) will survive.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT POSTS RETURNED BY THE X API WILL BE COMPLETE OR ACCURATE.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL SLAP SOCIAL BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Jessyka Mathews and any agents acting on her behalf from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) Your Content, or (d) your violation of any third-party right, including the X Terms of Service.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. The state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service, except that you may bring claims in small-claims court if eligible.
15. Apple-specific terms (Licensed Application End User License Agreement)
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Jessyka Mathews, not Apple, and that Jessyka Mathews is solely responsible for the iOS app and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to applicable warranties, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. embargo and not on any U.S. list of prohibited or restricted parties.
iOS payments are exclusively Apple In-App Purchase. For the avoidance of doubt and consistent with Apple App Store Review Guideline 3.1.1: the iOS app does not contain, link to, or otherwise direct users to any payment mechanism other than Apple's In-App Purchase / StoreKit 2 system. The iOS app contains no external payment processor, no web checkout, no "subscribe at our website" prompt, no QR code or link to off-app payment, and no other call to action that directs users to purchasing mechanisms outside Apple's In-App Purchase. Any Web App subscription offered at slapsocial.app is offered exclusively on that website and is not promoted, advertised, sold, or available for purchase from within the iOS app. Where you hold an active Web App subscription and then sign in to the iOS app with the same account, the iOS app honors that subscription as a Multiplatform Service under Guideline 3.1.3(b); it does not offer renewal, management, or upgrade of that Web App subscription from within the iOS app.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. For material changes, we will notify you in-app or by email at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the update constitutes acceptance.
17. Miscellaneous
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Jessyka Mathews regarding the Service. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them in connection with a sale of the Service or its assets.
